Tips for a successful interview

The interview is your chance to market yourself to a potential employer “face to face”.
We, AIMS Human Capital Romania, will use this time to evaluate not only your skills and abilities, but also your “fit” with our organization. Your goal is to answer our questions honestly, with energy and enthusiasm. You can sell yourself better in an interview if you are prepared.

Interview preparation

During the interview it is important to make a good first impression. Here are some guidelines to follow in conducting your interview:

 

  • Be on time for the interview. Arrive 10 minutes early, late attendance is never excusable. Use your waiting time to check your appearance, review the questions and answers you prepared.
  • The way you dress says a lot about you. Dress appropriately for the industry, your personal grooming and cleanliness should be impeccable.
  • Shake hands firmly. Radiate confidence. Smile. Be natural.
  • Make eye contact and have a friendly expression when the interviewer greets you.
  • Speak up but not loudly and maintain a tone of total confidence.
  • Bring extra copies of your Resume. Always bring a pen to your interviews.
  • Do more in-depth research on the company and industry trends to prepare for future interviews. Being more educated than your competition is a sure way to gain advantage.
  • Ask intelligent questions. All that research you did will come in handily here, as you impress with your interest and your knowledge of how the company works.
  • Be prepared to answer the following questions:

“ Tell me about yourself. ”; Keep your answer in the professional realm only. Review your past positions, your education and any other strengths that partain to the job.
“ What do you know about our organization? ”; If you’ve done your research correctly, you should have no problem answering this one. Be positive.
“ Why are you interested in this position? ”; Relate how your qualifications really match the requirements of the job. Also, express your desire to work for our company.
“ What have been your most significant career accomplishments to date? “; Select some recent accomplishments that relate to this position and its requirements.
“ Describe a situation in which your work has been criticized. “; Focus on how you solved the situation.
“ How do you perform under pressure? “;
“ What are you goals in you career? “;
“ Where do you see yourself in two years? “;
